Call To Worship
Psalm 48 : 1 – 6
1 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights above. 2 Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts. 3 Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars. 4 Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. 5 Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created, 6 and he established them for ever and ever—he issued a decree that will never pass away.
Worship Through Songs
Good day dear people of the Lord—blood-bought saints of the Living God. As we face another uncertain year, may our Heavenly Father grant us the grace to abide in hope, persevere in faith, and remain in his love.
At a time when God’s people were living in a time of darkness and confusion, and hoping for the breaking forth of the light of the Lord, the prophet Isaiah proclaimed …
‘Hope of all hopes, dream of our dreams,
a child is born, sweet-breathed; a son is given to us: a living gift. And even now, with tiny features and dewy hair, He is great.
The power of leadership, and the weight of authority, will rest on His shoulders.
His name? His name we’ll know in many ways—
He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Dear Father everlasting, ever-present never-failing,
Master of Wholeness, Prince of Peace.
His leadership will bring such prosperity as you’ve never seen before—
sustainable peace for all time.
This child: God’s promise to David—a throne forever, among us,
to restore sound leadership that cannot be perverted or shaken.
He will ensure justice without fail and absolute equity. Always.’ [Isa 9]
This amazing promise of God’s deliverance through a most extraordinary figure stands at the pinnacle of Messianic prophesies—foretelling the coming of God’s Anointed deliverer who will save his people and make all things right. He is both human—designated a child and a son; and divine—acclaimed as Mighty God and Everlasting Father. He is the Wonderful Counselor and the Prince of Shalom—wholeness! He is Israel’s hope and consolation and by his reign He will bring peace, justice, stability, prosperity, and fullness for all that are his. For centuries God’s people waited and waited. Empires rose and fell. Kingdoms came and went. Power after foreign power took turns occupying the land and oppressing the people, yet the heavens were silent, and the promise remained unfulfilled.
Until one seemingly ordinary night, at an ordinary hillside, among ordinary sheep herders, heaven’s marvelous messenger declared “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” … or as another translation puts it, “Don’t be afraid! Listen! I bring good news, news of great joy, news that will affect all people everywhere. Today, in the city of David, a Liberator has been born for you! He is the promised Anointed One, the Supreme Authority!” Good news. Great Joy. For all people. Fear not. Hope is born that night for Christ is born that night.
‘Gracious God and Loving Heavenly Father, we are humbled by your greatness and awe-struck by your kindness—that You, who hold the entire universe and sustains it by the power of your Word should be mindful of us and wary of every detail of our lives. Your goodness is over all that You have made and not a creature, no matter how small, falls without You knowing, or allowing it—for even the birds of the air who neither sow, nor reap, nor trade in business, are nevertheless feed and cared for by your generous hand. Through Jesus, You declared us of far greater value than many sparrows—and You have set your affection upon us as your Children through Christ Jesus.
You have made us in your image and made us for yourself. Help us to realize that our lives are meant to be filled by You and to point to You—that unless we have this right, nothing else would truly matter, as we will be missing the point of it all. Lord Jesus, all things were made through You and for You. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning, and the end of all things.
This Christmas season, as the year ends and a new year looms over the horizon, help us to remember daily that to lose our lives for your sake, and the gospel’s sake, is to find true life—the kind that lasts forever and is meaningfully abundant; the kind that only You can give. For by your death, we live forgiven, and by your resurrected life, we live triumphant. Thank You for the ‘manger’. Thank You for the cross. Thank You for the empty tomb and thank You for our promised home which You have prepared for us. In your Name. Amen’

Scripture Reading
For Rev. Rival’s message:
2nd Corinthians 5 : 1 – 10
1 For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, 3 if indeed by putting it on[a] we may not be found naked. 4 For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
6 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
2 我 們 在 這 帳 棚 裡 歎 息 , 深 想 得 那 從 天 上 來 的 房 屋 , 好 像 穿 上 衣 服 ;
For Rev. Long’s message:
Psalm 100
1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
3 Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
5 For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
